The aim of this blog is to provide directions to helpful resources on the Psalms. My goal is to make use of the discoveries of critical scholarship as pertaining to the Psalms and using them to develop a solid biblical theology of the Psalter.
I also run another blog called Yahweh Malak which focuses upon the Old Testament in a more general way.

Dear Richard,
This is an interesting idea for a blog. I will have to link to it.

Sorry, I “stuck” the wrong email address to that last comment. This one’s got the right one.
Dear Rev. Van Popta,
Thank you for those links, I shall certainly be taking a look at them.
Very interested to see your blog. I’ll be a regular reader.
You may be interested to hear that I am also in the process of developing a psalm singing website which may be of interest to you, although at present there is only a holding page with a handful of recordings avaliable. http://www.psalm-singing.org
Nathan,
Thank you for your kind words, I will check out your site.
Glad to have found your site. I’m looking forward to browse around a good bit more. I especially appreciate you “Articles” section. Thanks for sharing!
Interesting site – I’ll be sure to look around! I’m curious… have you spent any time looking at Calvin Seerveld’s treatment of the psalms?
I haven’t read Seerveld’s work, is it any good?
I like the idea of this blog. I have linked to it.
Hi and thanks for a very interesting blog.
I’m a Norwegian writing a Master’s thesis about the Sitz im Leben of the enthronement Psalms. So far I have written or plan to write about the contributions of Gunkel, Mowinckel, Weiser, Kraus, Gerstenberger, and Mark Smith.
Would you like to give any reading recommendations besides these?
Ståle, I would also look at I. Engnell and John Eaton. Tremper Longman’s article on Psalm 98 in the Westminster Theological Journal is also interesting.
I hope your thesis goes well, it certainly sound interesting!
Richard,
Have you looked at any of the work of James Hely Hutchinson?
He is a professor at: http://www.institutbiblique.be/
And did his PhD in the Psalms. Particularly in the Biblical Theological shape of the Psalms. Right up your street it seems.
Blessings…
Hi Pete, I haven’t come across James Hely Hutchinson other than his chapter in Interpreting the Psalms: Issues and Approaches so thanks for the heads up.
Richard,
Thanks for your website. Could you provide your last name? I want to link to your site and didn’t want to just use your first name everytime.
Thanks,
James
James,
It can be found in this.
Thanks! Both for your name and the article
